LUFP event in ALMATY AT ARBAT SQUARE, KAZAKHSTAN. On this cloudy, grey day, October 6, 100 painters gathered in Arbat Square to participate in the first Umbrellas for Peace event in Kazakhstan. Their colorful umbrellas were paraded about the square for everyone to see and enjoy.

Transvision Students painting umbrellas for peace at Museum of Private Art Collections (Chicago)
TransVision www.transvis.org/ is a program initiated by the State of Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS), Bureau of Blind Services (BBS). Its function is to assist students, 14 years and older with significant visual impairments, to have a smooth transition from high school into the world of work, college, trade school, or other specialized training in preparation for employment. provides support for young adults with visual Impairments. TransVision students traveled to the Chicago Matt Lamb Museum for their second annual umbrella painting and tour on July 24th.

The McCord Gallery, the art and cultural center of Palos Park, Illinois, is embracing Matt Lamb’s message of peace, hope, and love, through the painting of umbrellas. Four painting sessions will be held throughout the months of July, culminating with painters participation in the Palos Park annual parade celebration on September 15. The Gallery will also be hosting an exhibit of Matt Lamb’s paintings September 8 through October 12.

Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments http://dgckids.org/ Event  was held on 7/7/12.  The Missouri students travelled to Chicago and painted umbrellas and took the tour. Delta Gama  help children who are blind or visually impaired reach their full potential through family-centered and specialized services and support.
